February saw a 20.9% increase in China’s export container shipping price index.

SHANGHAI: According to statistics from the Shanghai Shipping Exchange, China’s export container shipping price index increased by 20.9 percent in February compared to the previous month.
According to the shipping exchange, the average China Containerized Freight Index (CCFI) was 1,440.74 last month, as reported by indiashippingnews.

With a month-over-month gain of 33.8 percent, the sub-reading for the West Coast America service showed the biggest increase, followed by the Europe service.

The sub-reading for the Persian Gulf/Red Sea service decreased 1.8% from the prior month, defying the rising trend.

Based on information from 22 foreign carriers, the CCFI monitors spot and contractual freight prices from Chinese container ports on 12 shipping routes worldwide.
