Ben Duckett, an English opener, has hit the third-fastest Test century by a visiting batsman in India, a feat achieved on his 88th delivery. The century was scored off Mohammed Siraj, a straight drive off the Indian bowler. This marks the seventh-fastest century by an Englishman, tied with Kevin Pietersen.

Duckett’s century gives England an upper hand over India in the final session of Day 2, with Ravichandran Ashwin taking his 500th Test wicket, dismissing Zak Crawley. India were knocked out for 445 in their first innings.
