Sad News: Former Miss India Tripura 2017 Rinky Chakma Passes Away
Rinky Chakma, the titleholder of Femina Miss India Tripura 2017, passed away on February 28th at the age of 29. The news of her demise has left actress Neha Dhupia and fans mourning.
The Miss India organization shared the news of Rinky Chakma’s passing on social media. Rinky Chakma had clinched the title of Femina Miss India Colors 2017. The organization expressed deep sorrow over her loss.
In their post, the Miss India organization stated, “With deep sadness, we share the news of the passing of Femina Miss India Tripura 2017, Rinky Chakma. An extraordinary woman, Rinky was a symbol of grace and purpose. Representing Tripura in the Femina Miss India 2017 competition, she was honored with the title of Miss Beauty with a Purpose, a testament to her impactful efforts and compassionate nature.”
Continuing their message, the organization added, “During this difficult time, our heartfelt condolences go out to her family and friends. May her soul rest in eternal peace. Rinky, your legacy of purpose and beauty will always be remembered. You will be dearly missed by all those fortunate enough to have known you.”
Who is Rinky Chakma?
Rinky Chakma hailed from the Chakma community in Tripura. In the year 2017, she clinched the title of Femina Miss India Tripura in the Northeast regional auditions. This competition took place on March 19th at Big Bazaar, City Square in Guwahati, Assam. Representing Tripura in the competition, Rinky won the title of Miss Beauty with a Purpose.
Rinky Battled with This Illness
It is worth mentioning that Rinky Chakma was suffering from a severe condition known as Malignant Phyllodes Tumor. Last month, on January 27th, she mentioned her illness on social media. She revealed that it was a form of breast cancer. The model had also undergone surgery for tumor treatment. However, after a prolonged battle with the illness, she tragically lost her life.
Neha Dhupia Expresses Grief
Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia has expressed her sorrow over the demise of model Rinky Chakma. Sharing a heartbreak emoji from Red Color, the actress has paid her respects. Fans too are expressing their condolences over the model’s passing.
