Delhi News 7 babies killed in massive fire at Delhi children’s hospital; several injured
Delhi News Officials said that 12 newborns were rescued from the baby care centre in Delhi’s Vivek Vihar area but seven died while getting treatment at the hospital. A large fire started at a hospital for newborn babies in Vivek Vihar, Delhi on Saturday night, according to police. Unfortunately, seven babies died and many others were injured. Twelve newborns were saved from the fire and have been transferred to another hospital for treatment. One of the rescued babies is in critical condition and is on a ventilator, while the others are receiving medical care at the hospital.
Delhi at least seven newborns tragically lost their lives in a large fire that occurred at a children’s hospital. The fire was reported by the Delhi Fire Services at 11:32 pm on Saturday at a baby care center located in the Vivek Vihar area in East Delhi. Upon receiving the call, 16 fire trucks were quickly dispatched to the location to address the situation.
Officials said that 12 newborns were rescued from the first floor of the building but seven died while getting treatment at the hospital.
Five children are currently being treated at the hospital.
Delhi News : The Delhi police on Sunday arrested the owner of a children’s hospital in East Delhi, where a fire broke out Saturday night, leading to seven newborns losing their lives. The police had earlier detained Dr Naveen for questioning. According to the Delhi Fire Services, the blaze erupted at the New Born Baby Care Hospital in Vivek Vihar at around 11.30 pm following which nine fire tenders were rushed to the site. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
Meanwhile, Delhi Lt Governor VK Saxena on Sunday issued directions to the chief secretary of the national capital to “institute inquiry” into the incident. Meanwhile, health minister Saurabh Bharadwaj said that rescued infants would receive free treatment at top private hospitals through the state government’s Farishtey scheme.
In a second such case, three individuals were killed in a fire that engulfed a residential building in the Krishna Nagar district of East Delhi during the early hours of Sunday. These incidents occurred shortly after a massive fire in Gujarat’s Rajkot city killed at least 27 people as a crowded game zone caught fire and the building cllapsed
