On Tuesday, the Indian captain Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka announced the arrival of their second child, a boy called Akaay. On his social media accounts, Kohli made the major announcement and asked for privacy at the same time.
“With abundant happiness and our hearts all of the love, we are pleased to inform everyone that on 15th February, we welcomed our baby boy Akaay & Vamika’s little brother into this world!” read the post on Instagram.
Kohli announced his reason for withdrawing from cricket, rumored to welcome parenthood for a second time. He was named in India’s squad for the first two Tests against England but withdrew three days before the opener.
Kohli, in a conversation with Rohit Sharma and team management, stated that while representing his country is a priority, personal situations require his presence and undivided attention, and Rajat Patidar was named his replacement.
