Volkswagen Virtus GT Plus Sport: All You Need To Know

According to Volkswagen Virtus GT Plus Sport, is still only a concept car and will probably be on sale later this year.

Volkswagen India’s 2024 annual conference was a busy one, as the German automaker introduced new Taigun and Virtus models in addition to the highly anticipated ID.4 electric SUV.

The German automaker is now focusing on growing the GT range of its two current vehicles, the Taigun and Virtus, rather than introducing a brand-new model designed just for India. VW revealed the forthcoming Volkswagen Virtus GT Plus Sport in this regard; it is currently only a concept car.

Volkswagen Virtus GT Plus Sport: What’s new?

The GT Plus Spot lives up to its name by adding more sportiness to the overall appearance, in contrast to the preceding GT Plus trim that was loaded with chrome accents. For example, gloss black components replace the chrome seen on the front grille and bumper of the GT Plus Chrome trim on the Virtus GT Plus Sport. The sedan has 17-inch alloy wheels with all-black spokes.

Likewise, gloss black has been applied to the diffuser and rear bumper. Additionally obscured is the wording “Virtus.” A blacked-out spoiler that protrudes from the boot lid is another aggressive feature. Furthermore, there is blackening across the roof. To add to the smokey appearance, the reflector lights and taillamps have been darkened. Prices for the Virtus GT Plus Sport have not yet been disclosed, but we anticipate that they will be comparable to those of the comparable Chrome trim.

Volkswagen Virtus GT Plus Sport: Interiors & Powertrain

The remainder of the GT line is still represented in terms of other style elements. Features carried over from previous VW GT models include the red brake calipers on the front wheels and the red GT marking on the grille, boot lid, and front fenders. Red accents on the dashboard, steering wheel, piping, and seat upholstery liven up the all-black interior. Metallic pedals also give the interior a more upscale appearance.

When it launches, specifics about its features and specifications will be made public. It is quite likely that the 1.5-liter, four-cylinder, TSI turbo-petrol engine that powers the Virtus GT Plus Sport will produce 250 Nm of peak torque and 148 horsepower. There will be a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox available for transmission tasks.
